Comet CAT-283 Dual Band Antenna Tuner (144/430MHz). The CAT-283 is a high-performance antenna tuner (also known as an antenna coupler) specifically designed for 144MHz and 430MHz amateur radio bands. This tuner supports up to 250W (FM mode) and integrates a built-in duplexer, allowing simultaneous tuning of both bands through a single connector. Perfect for ham radio operators looking for a compact yet powerful tuning solution for VHF/UHF operations. Supports 250W output power for both 144MHz and 430MHz bands.

Built-in duplexer : Single coaxial output for both bands. Cross-needle meter displays forward power, reflected power, and SWR simultaneously. Band switchable meter (144MHz/430MHz) to reduce size and weight. Backlit display : Illuminated meter scale for easy reading in low light (requires external DC power). Connector type : SO-239 (M-type, compatible with PL-259).

Cables/adapters not included - please see below for compatibility. If your transceiver uses an N-type connector, you will need an MP-NP 50cm cable (not included). If your antenna cable ends in an MP connector, it can connect directly.

For NP-type antenna cable, use an MP-NJ conversion adapter (not included). Although rated for 250W, always reduce power to 10W or less during tuning to avoid damage to the transceiver and tuner. Do not exceed 250W of input power - doing so may cause permanent damage. Do not apply more than 15V to the meter illumination terminal - overvoltage may cause lamp failure. Matching range is limited to antennas with SWR resulting in 15-200?
