Grounding the coaxial cable at the home's entry point is highly recommended to protect equipment from electrostatic buildup and prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD). If the transformer box is mounted high above the ground, grounding at the box is unnecessary-ground the coaxial cable instead. Note : Grounding does not affect antenna tuning.
