This is a rare homebrew ham radio station master control coaxial switch box for integrating high power transmitters, amplifiers, transmatch, dummy load, and antennas from a single control point. This is done through the use of a pair multi-bank ceramic RF rotary switches that can handle RF power well in excess of amateur radio regulatory limits.
Both switches are heavy duty Radio Switch Company era thick ceramic series models with extensive silver-plated rotor rods and stator contacts incorporating corona shielding. Switch S-1 uses a single bank of two available which is a two pole, double throw configuration with four positions. Switch S-2 /3 uses a double bank of two pole double throw configuration with five positions. Both switches have heavy duty indexes with adjustable set screws and heavy ball bearing shaft support.
The switches are turned using 2.25 diameter heavy rotary knobs. The internal wiring is done professionally with heavy use of silver solder. The switch box is made of heavy guage aluminum stock and is designed for easy removal of the side panels for ready access to the switch components allowing the user to do simple rewiring to configure the array for his individual applications. The box measures 10" by 8.5" by 6.
The unit is in excellent condition as shown in the photographs with a crack on one of the back column insulators on the S-1 switch as shown and is stable when the selector is rotated through all four positions.
