This is a custom built 2 meter / VHF band Slim Jim antenna fashioned from 450 ohm window wire. This is a quality assembled product that will last you many years. In mine and others opinions this antenna out-performs ½ wave verticals standard j-poles and co-linear j-poles. Features: Length - 57 Antenna and 16' cable.

Gain - Approx 6dbi 2m Weight - 6oz. Connector - Assorted Male connectors (SMA Standard) Construction - 450 ohm ladder line 16' RG-58 and an SMA(Standard), BNC, UHF, Mini-UHF or N Connector, now also available for Chinese import handhelds Female SMA! You can see from the illustration that the half wave radiator folds back on itself. This essentially creates an end fed dipole yet still retains the j match system.

Together these elements create an antenna that performs quite well. This antenna can be supported by many things including trees, ceilings, curtain rods and pretty much anything else you can dream up that will support 6oz of weight and keep the antenna a couple inches away from solid objects. These antennas are great for ecom activities, field expeditions, hotel rooms and base station use too.

I use one as a base antenna myself as it performs better than my 1/2 wave vertical. This antenna comes with 16 feet of high quality pe dielectric RG-58 Coax cable and your choice of SMA, BNC or UHF connector for easy deployment with an HT or Base/Mobile Radio. The matching section is soldered then sealed with double wall adhesive type heat-shrink to protect it from the weather. At its center tuned frequency this antenna presents almost a perfect load to your transceiver. The typical bandwidth under 1.5:1 is about 4 mhz.

Presently I can custom tune the antennas to any frequency between 130 - 225 mhz just be sure to message me promptly upon ordering if you want a custom freq. Here are some customer responses. One fellow on a repeater about 35 miles away said I sounded like I was right in the town where his club repeater is. People say my signal sounds very good especially considering I'm on the HT. The SJ has enabled me to regularly use a very active repeater that I was previously unable to reach on just my Diamond whip. For the listed price you get 1 antenna. Item pictured is not actual antenna but all are built the same. All of the cabling in this antenna is made in the USA. I use Amphenol N connectors they cost more than double my normal connectors.
