This is a very nice, clean Vectronics model # VC300DLP manual Antenna Tuner. It covers all of the HF Ham Radio frequencies from 160 through 10-Meters (from 1.8 to 30 MHz,) including the 30, 17 and 12-Meter "WARC" HF bands, CB, Shortwave, and the 60-Meter band.
A front-panel eight-position rotary switch allows the user to switch between one of two - coax-fed antennas, or a wire antenna (single/random-length or balanced line-fed) or an internal Dummy Load. There is an internal 4:1 Balun which allows for balanced-line antenna use. The coax-fed antenna(s) can be switched to be going through the tuner ("tuned") or bypassing the tuner "direct". The front-panel meter in the VC300DLP tuner allows monitoring either Average or Peak transmit power levels. The cross-needle meter measures the peak or average Forward or Reflected power levels, and SWR. The meter can be illuminated by providing a +12V DC source (not included) to a jack on the rear panel. No manual was included, but it's available for free on-line download. Its operation is the same as other HF Antenna Tuners, like those from B&W, Drake, Dentron, Heathkit, Johnson Viking, Kenwood, MFJ, Yaesu, etc. It appears to be in excellent condition, inside and out, as you can see in the pictures. But it has not been tested, and is shown as received from the Estate of a local Amateur Radio operator.
All switches and controls move smoothly. And operators attempting to run much higher "QRO" power (more than 300-watts) that exceed the ratings of this tuner. Use verticals, dipoles, inverted vees, yagis, quads, long-wires, whips, G5RVs, etc. Has 4:1 balun for balanced line antennas. Handles up to 300 Watts SSB PEP, 200 Watts continuous (150 Watts on 1.8 MHz). The VC-300DLP backlit Cross-Needle Meter displays SWR, forward and reflected power simultaneously.
Reads both peak and average power on 30/300 Watt scales. Meter lamp has front panel switch and uses 12 VDC or 110 VAC with AC-12 adaptor not Inc. The VC-300DLP either position antenna switch lets you select two coax fed antennas, random wire/balanced line or built-in dummy load for use through your tuner or direct to your transceiver.
Bypass position bypasses your tuner but keeps your SWR Power meter in line. A built-in 50 Ohm dummy load makes tuning up your rig easy! Use it for testing and repairing your rig, setting power level adjusting your mic gain and more.
